The Briscoe family is back in one of our favorite places in the world: the mountains of North Georgia. Once a year we get out to “The Gathering,” a gorgeous cabin that sits near the Coosawattee River. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for months.
We got in late last night (really easy trip) and have already experienced God in such a special way. I went on a two hour prayer walk this morning in the trails and Tracy did her quiet time on the river. It’s always so fun to come back together and share with each other what God was speaking to us.
Psalms 40 was a part of my reading plan today and I was struck by verse three:
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.
– Psalms 40:3 NLT
Tracy and I are believing that the Holy Spirit will fill us on this trip and from the depths of our soul we will sing a new song filled with joy and gladness. There’s something about going to a place removed from all distractions – retreating to a place where it’s easy for you to hear the voice of God. We feel the presence of God in a unique way when we come to the mountains. I’m so excited for what God is going to do on this trip and to spend time with my family.
Please be praying for us. That God will fill us with strength and vision. We want to come back with a fresh fire to build the Kingdom of God!
I’m Harold Dorrell Briscoe. Thanks for reading.
